The Dangers of Mould to your Health
Flooding and Mould – Townsville Flood Dangers
The most common allergic triggers of asthma are house dust-mites, pets, pollen and mould. Continued exposure to indoor and outdoor areas that are damp and have mould can trigger asthma and allergy symptoms in some people, with some reactions being severe.
Mould is commonly found in bathrooms, bedroom and moist areas, it’s also found in places with little air circulation such as walk-in and built-in wardrobes, and in bedrooms with en suite bathrooms where the moisture can’t escape.
Recently in Townsville floods hundreds of houses have been damaged by fast-spreading mould on walls, curtains, beds, mattresses, pillows, sheets and clothes. Jellyfish bedding and mattresses manufacture an Australian made mould, fungi and hose dust – mite resistant mattresses and pillows, these are treated with Ultra Fresh PH1 which inhibits the growth of any of these allergens that can be so harmful to our health.
JellyFish mattress are delivered to your door for convenience, they have a 10 year warranty, endorsed by Chiropractor Dr Sean Dillon and manufactured with foams that are approved by Sensitive Choice® an initiative of the National Asthma Council Australia.

Homes impacted by mouldy walls etc during the devastating Townsville floods will be able to access vital Commonwealth assistance under further changes to payment red tape. As the floodwaters recede and residents begin the mammoth clean up, many people have raised concerns about the eligibility criteria to receive a one-off Australian Disaster Recovery Payment of $1000 per adult and $400 per child.
Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment and Disaster Recovery Allowance payments are available in the five local government areas of Burdekin, Cook, Douglas, Townsville and Wujal Wujal. Claiming information is available from www.humanservices.gov.au/disaster, your local Service Centre, or by calling 180 22 66.
